Impact & Visibility

Does the project benefit the individual applicant through personal growth, healing, or learning? Does it enrich the life of the congregation—such as worship, fellowship, accessibility, inclusion, or shared identity? Does it extend outward to benefit the broader community in Central Oregon, particularly in ways that align with UU values? Projects may benefit more than one purpose (e.g., attending a retreat that helps the applicant grow, while also offering a reflection to the community afterward). Explain clearly how your project makes a meaningful difference and for whom; consider both immediate and long-term impact.

Will the project be visible to others in the congregation through an event, a story, artwork, a testimonial, or a Sunday service mention? Are there ways the project might connect with the broader public or local media? How might you help others understand that this work was supported by the UUFCO Endowment? Applicants are encouraged to think creatively about how their project can inspire, educate, or engage others—whether in subtle or public ways.

Could the project serve as a model or spark for others to apply in future years? Might it inspire members to contribute to the Endowment after seeing its impact? Could it help people experience Unitarian Universalism more deeply and meaningfully?

Description

The Mini-Grants Program activates a portion of our church’s Endowment to support projects that reflect Unitarian Universalist values and strengthen our impact as a congregation. Grants are available to members for initiatives that benefit individuals, the church, and/or the broader community. In doing so, the program keeps the Endowment visible, relevant, and actively engaged in the life of the Fellowship. Each funded project serves as a tangible example of how legacy giving continues to shape our shared future. By highlighting the positive change made possible through Endowment support, the program also encourages a culture of generosity and invites others to contribute to the ongoing growth and purpose of the fund.

• Apply: June 1 to August 15
• Deadline: August 15
• Decisions Announced: September 15
• Funds Disbursed: September 19
